What is "Beyond Eden"? A range of organized activities designed to promote mutual understanding and respect between Christians, Jews, and Muslims in Bloomington, Normal, and McLean County, Illinois. Why "Beyond Eden"? All three traditions share the Biblical story of Eden, a story of our common origins and dependence on divine power. How can we move beyond that common background to build a greater sense of shared humanity and mutual respect?
Upcoming Activities
The activities planned for Spring-Summer 2009 have now drawn to a successful close. Thank you to everyone who participated and who helped in any way with this endeavor. During the next weeks, there will be discussions about where we go from here. If you are moved to make suggestions or comments, please use the "Contact us" page. Check out the "Resources" page for a rich set of statements about interfaith relations. These could well be used in support of personal or group educational activities relating to interfaith connections. This Web site will remain active at least until Spring 2010; so access to the Resources will be available through this site.
